Olivia

Author: kaeosmom

PC in: Epic Adventures

Race: Tiefling

Level: 1

Game System: D&D 4E

Description

Olivia is a tiefling rogue. She has gold eyes, dark purple skin and long blood red hair. She is about 5’8” and weighs 150ponds. She has a long tail with a stereotypical devil-ish point on the end that’s fairly sharp, almost like a pointy bone. Olivia has horns that stick straight up in the air which are angled toward each other. They are quite large so Olivia must have a pretty thick skull. Olivia wears armor with the shell of Melora on it that she got from some gypsies who rescued her as when she was kicked out of Vor Kragal. She wanted to change her look as much as she could, part out of necessity and part due to her change in spirit.

Bio

Olivia Zolfura is a noble from a nearby tiefling empire, Vor Kragal. She isn’t the princess or anything but she is of noble blood. Up until recently she had never stepped foot out of the empire’s boundaries. Olivia was trained for combat since she was about 6 years old when her family decided to place her in the kingdom’s academy where she was trained in the kingdom’s martial arts. Olivia admired her teacher. To her he was all that was good in the world as he sought to bring peace to the tiefling kingdom. He taught his students to use what they’ve learned only in situations where it is necessary and not to instigate fights. He was one of the few naturally good tieflings, her parents were indifferent and taught her that it isn’t any use to be good because at some point someone will screw you over but she refused to believe that and followed the teachings of her leader Celbram Kahlir. The kingdom was in the middle of a revolution.

The poor people were tired of being oppressed and they decided to rebel against the filthy rich nobles who treated them like slaves. Olivia’s teacher was aiding them in their quest for justice. Olivia believed in his every word and was fully for his cause and was willing to fight for what is right. In the middle of the uprising Olivia witnessed her leader’s murder at the hand of Barathas Barikdral. She remembered the face very distinctly and she plotted to kill him. When class went back into session Olivia found that the one who murdered her teacher took his place. She now had an opportunity to get her revenge.

Filled with rage, she denounced her teacher’s belief to only fight when necessary and decided that his killer needed to die. She pretended to fully accept the new teacher into the position but she told him that she had a few questions that she needed to ask him in private. They arranged a meeting and she hid a dagger inside her boot. Olivia questioned the new guy about the death of her old leader. He admitted that he killed him but claimed that he did it in self defense. He said that Olivia’s leader was trying to destroy the kingdom and kill the emperor. Olivia knew that this wasn’t true as she listened diligently to her leader’s teachings and she witnessed his death. Olivia waited until the teacher was about to leave the room and she snuck behind him and slit his throat, he wasn’t even able to scream. Olivia knew she was going to get caught as soon as she left the room as there were guards on each side of the door and the windows in the room were too small to squeeze through. She felt no remorse for what she did but she was a bit shaken up and wanted to leave the room as soon as possible. Olivia walked out of the room, a bit shaky, and left the bloody dagger behind. The guards waited for the leader to come out but after about 10 minutes he still didn’t come out the guards decided to knock on the door. As there was no reply they became nervous because of Olivia’s disposition so they decided to bust in. They found the teacher dead on the floor with the bloody dagger lying next to him.

Olivia ran as fast as she could after she left the sight of the guards and she had been running for 10 minutes but it took her that long to leave the castle. She really didn’t think of an exit plan. The guards figured exactly where she must be and captured her easily. She was sent to the dungeon. Her noble father heard of what happened to her daughter and paid some of her classmates to rescue her and send her outside the bounds of the city. They succeeded and gave her some gold, a horse and supplies that her father had given them for her and they told her that her father wanted her to stay away from the city for the rest of her life, as she may be killed if she comes back. Olivia left as fast as she could. In the forest a troll decided to chase Olivia. She was knocked from her mount and she ran as fast as she could to hide in the underbrush. The troll caught the horse and left Olivia alone. She prayed that she would be saved.

Olivia saw and image of a beautiful goddess with long green hair and a shell around her neck. She followed the vision to a clearing where she felt safe and decided to camp there until hopefully somebody came along to save her. She was there for 5 days and was getting tired and about ready to give up on life as she was still in bad shape from escaping the troll. The next thing she knew she heard horse hooves from a distance and she became very excited. Soon a band of gypsies came and took her in. They taught her about the goddess Melora and gave her new armor to wear. She was astounded by their generosity and decided to devote her life to following the goddess Melora.

The gypsies asked her where she was going and she told them that she was going as far away from Vor Kragal. They told her that they were going to Fallcrest where they were going to get more materials. Olivia went along and she decided to stay there because she was tired of traveling. She thanked the gypsies and gave them a generous sum of gold, leaving only 100 gp for herself. She knew that she didn’t need much.
