Creation staggers on the edge of a precipice. The greatest war to ever rock the heart of the world brews in back-rooms and behind cold smiles. The enemies of Creation, both without and within, stir in their hollows. Beings long-forgotten rattle the seals that have held since the dawn of the Age of Man. Stars tremble in confusion, unsure what future to write in an uncaring sky. Darkness licks at the edges of the light, gnawing away until the world seems ready to tip into the precipice, and not a good man stands ready to lift a lamp against the shadows.

You’ve all come to the city of Gem, primary supplier of the world’s Firedust, for different reasons. Some for an endless quest for knowledge, some for power to shake the Vault of Heaven, some for wealth beyond the dreams of Avarice, some for simple revenge.

Whatever your own desires, will you be that good man? Will you be that lamp in the darkness? Will you be the ones to put aside your differences and stand as one against the terrible things that crawl in from the night? Or will you gutter and die like a candle in the winds that stand ready to extinguish all light forever?

Open your heart. Hear the voice of Infinity. Shout your name into the dark, that all who hear you be bolstered by the bastion that is your legend. Stand strong when no-one else can muster the courage of heart. Break the cold chains of Samsara that bind the destiny of Creation to a bitter end.
