Zeitgeist: The Gears of Revolution
Hello everybody; this will be the homepage and forum for the Pathfinder Zeitgest campaign. At the moment; it’s a little barebones, but that will change soon. For now, we can use the forums to discuss character concepts, roles and make sure we don’t inadvertently step on each others toes when coming up with characters.

“Steam and soot darken the skies above the city of Flint, and winds sweeping across its majestic harbor blow the choking products of industrial forges into the fey rain forests that dot its knife-toothed mountains. Since the earliest ages when the people of Risur founded this city, they feared the capricious beings that hid in those fog-shrouded peaks, but now as the march of progress and the demands of national defense turn Flint into a garden for artifice and technology, the old faiths and rituals that kept the lurkers of the woods at bay are being abandoned.
The Unseen Court, the Great Hunt, and the many spirits of the land long ago conquered by Risur’s kings no longer receive tribute, but they cannot enter these new cities of steam and steel to demand their tithe. The impoverished workers who huddle in factory slums fear monsters of a different breed, shadowy children of this new urban labyrinth. Even their modern religions have no defenses against these fiends.
Times are turning. The skyseers – Risur’s folk prophets since their homeland’s birth – witness omens in the starry wheels of heaven, and they warn that a new age is nigh. But what they cannot foresee, hidden beyond the steam and soot of the night sky, is the face of this coming era, the spirit of the age. The zeitgeist."
I’m recruiting for a long term, Pathfinder campaign, to be run at Gamer’s Vault on Saturdays; with the exact schedule to be determined after the first session. The adventure path is Zeitgeist; a recently released steampunk campaign from ENWorld. I’ve read the opening material; and I love it and desperately want to run it. Here’s the details on what I’m looking for:
Character’s will be built using 25 point buy, maximum gold at first level, and the guidelines in the Zeitgeist Player’s Guide. You each gain a bonus feat that is chosen from one of the theme feats present in the Player’s Guide. Given that this is a steampunk setting; firearms will be present. They’ll use the Ultimate Combat rule set that will be released later this week; but in the meantime, players can use the rules from the Gunslinger playtest (http://paizo.com/store/downloads/v5748btpy8j5e&source=search) . The firearms availability will follow the Guns Everywhere rule; with the exception that advanced firearms are not available at the start of the campaign. Material from any Paizo product is permitted during character creation; provided you can bring a copy of said rules to the table. Third party material will be adjudicated on a case by case basis and requires DM approval. I prefer neutral or good alignments.
Hero points will be used, and characters will start with two traits.
Players should read the Player’s Guide to Zeitgeist prior to the first session and character creation so as to understand the campaign world and the role they’ll be playing in it at the start; given that this is a very story intensive Adventure Path. It also contains several additional rules and details on races and classes in the setting.
I’m looking at about three years to run the campaign, and it’ll go from levels one to twenty.
