The known to us now as New York was spared a massive amount of bombing in the Great War. With the UN dissolved and the ‘Hot Summer’ of 2065 (Where a Nuclear Reactor powering the city went supercritical for a period of about 5 minutes, but there was no explosion), what was the point of targeting there? The Five Points, as the city is now known, did install a variety of all different shelters. So when the real bombs dropped in 2077, they had had 12 years to prepare. The reconstruction effort has been long and hard. It’s been a long time now since they began to rebuild of The Five Points and Edison brought the lights back on. The year is now 2280, 203 years after the Great War and New York City is once again the city that never sleeps. When the Edisons turned the lights on they declared their independence from The Greater New York State; claiming that they are better suited to take care of their own.
