Vala was 28 years old and working as a mid-level security officer in a Dummy Cooperation for a High Security research facility that works closely with pharmaceuticals as well as groundbreaking, though not entirely ethical, medical technologies and equipment. Most of the research is for genetic and paranormal blending. She was moving up steadily, if not as quickly as she would like. When she was not working she spent as much time as she could with her 2yr old daughter. Though she wasn’t exactly where she wanted to be in life things were for the most part happy and content.
However the backlash to steady promotion is you’re given higher clearance and revelation about whats really going on. Little did she know, for them, she was in the perfect position. Her security clearance and rank in the company accompanied with her knowledge of top secret projects and research experiments she was targeted to be “taken”. She later came to realize they tapped her when they did because she was high enough in the company to be valuable but not so integrated as to be a problem of extensive consequence.
After 12 years in Arcadia she finally escaped, the one thought, the anchor to her former life, driving her – her daughter. Anger and fear pushes her, she will find her daughter and kill the assuming cunt who presumes to live her life and raise her daughter. The life she had struggled so hard to make work and the daughter she vowed to give a better chance than she had had. After Jon disappeared and left her alone with a child to raise she knew then she would sacrifice anything to keep her from feeling the loss and the pain, that is more often than not, the cruelest side to fate. Now Arcadia has forced upon her the very thing she desperately tried to keep from her daughter. The real struggle comes in when she thinks about what she is now….. would this not be worse??
