Geko’s story

The clouds hung low in the sky drizzling a patter of misery down on the cobblestone streets of Rossterbok when Carra’s husband Ven declared to his wife that the adventure Viala’ would not be back to claim her child and the gold they were given to look after him had run out. The boy not more then seven years old ate too much and took up too much space in their small apartment overlooking an alley. Ven was tired of supplying the little brat with food and clothing and the favor he owned the now absent hero was long paid for. He cast the boy into the street and shut his door behind him.

The boy lived off trash for awhile until he was picked up by a gang of urchins in the employ of the “The Aces” a small local gang that fancied themselves the small city’s thief’s guild. He was trained by his new friends to pick locks and move unseen and with his affinity for green clothing was dubbed Geko for the way he slinked about.
The Aces were eventually caught by the city watch and executed. The cowards gave up to the crown all their associates to try to save their necks (which didn’t help) and the city watch went about rounding up all of Geko’s friends, casting them into the castle dungeon. They were tried and also hung, but the watch couldn’t catch the allusive Geko. His natural elfin dexterity had by now made him the best of the Aces thieves. He continued burglarizing Rossterbok cockily mocking the City Watch by leaving a card with the smiling geco painted on it wherever he hit. After awhile though the reward for his capture became too great and the skilled Geko couldn’t even trust his closest friends. He fled Rossterbok and is now on the road looking for his next adventure.
