Welcome to Castra Batava, slave!

Castra Batava is a Roman-esque empire with great cities and a strong standing military. They commonly attack small communities for supplies, raw materials, and slaves. Many slaves are sold as personal property, kept indefinitely as housekeepers, manual laborers, or sexual property. Those who fit poorly into these roles are commonly thrown to the lions, literally, to serve as entertainment on a regular basis in the Empire’s capital Castra Batava. Those who live long enough are rewarded with freedom and eventually citizenship.
