Second year junior high student Nikki Terumi is not new to the working life. Since the age of ten, she has been working to help her family out of its grave debts by appearing in commercials, and modeling children’s clothing after school, and on long vacations. However, no matter her success, her father’s gambling addiction and mother’s shopping addiction negate anything she earns, even accumulating more debt on top of it. Her only parents’ only option at that point was obviously indentured servitude for the rest of her youth.

As the former caretaker of her own household, Terumi makes a good maid. She cooks, cleans and is a warm person with an easy going attitude, making the job a perfect fit. The fact that she looks like a cute, eleven year old girl does not hurt her likeability either, as it makes it easy for her to get away with her vices, such as sleeping in late and playing pranks on people.

Terumi’s room is empty but for the things that came with her room (just a futon and a hangers in a small closet), as all of her money goes directly to her parents. The only things she owns is her school uniform and her maid uniform, and one outfit outside that, as her parents sold the rest to pay for a month long cruise.

Terumi thinks about snacks, teddy bears and cuddly animals… a lot… when she should be doing other things, like washing dishes and cleaning. This quality is kind of the reason she likes sleeping, because she often dreams about these things in vivid detail. This is all because she’s always been poor and cannot afford them. Luckily, her imagination is good to her.

Terumi takes things one at a time, completing one task before starting another. When she has a moment, she catches a quick nap, or will day dream about snacks. Short of being threatened with a nasty weapon, or being caught with less than her full uniform on, nothing really bothers her.

Terumi’s family spent itself into oblivion after winning a minor lottery, winding up with massive debts. So they did the natural thing: put their naturally cute and wonderful daughter to work. First they pimp…err… used her natural charm to make her an idol for internet and television ads. This worked well, until their increased life style required more money, so they did the natural thing: sold all of her clothing that were gifts from fans and employers, and put her to work in her spare time as a maid. Between being a teen idol and maid…ing… she is quite busy now.

Whenever Terumi can no longer handle a situation, she gets even. Even to her is like making everyone’s clothing smell like liverwurst, though most people don’t know what that smells like. Hint: If cats suddenly look real hungry when looking at you, Terumi was there. That and if your tea tastes like salt.

When cornered and there’s no other option but to fight, Terumi turns to the school of self defense she herself devised, the terrifying Tea-Fu. Unlike traditional martial arts, there is no practicing of any kind, nor exercise of any kind. It mostly involves knowing nothing about fighting at all, and doing the exact opposite of what people expect, like falling and tripping them with one’s prone body. Another example is to charge at one’s foes while closing one’s eyes. This usually involves a lot of tripping, falling and crying, but Terumi’s foes are usually either dismayed by this pathetic attack that they give up, leave, or just get confused and stand idly. Yes, she is strong with the Tea.

Being a cute and cuddly little girl, Terumi causes grief to anyone who wishes her harm, as they often regret punishing her. In addition, she’s a complete klutz, so whenever anyone takes a swing at her, she usually swoons and falls down, or screams and dodges through pure luck. That’s about when they hit themselves in the face with their own weapon.

Unlike her peers in school, Terumi hasn’t really grown much since…well…turning 9. She might pass for an 11 or 12-year old, but is mostly thought to be much younger. This makes her really nervous, especially when she sees her busty peers or the other maids (who although aren’t terribly impressive, Cream-san withstanding). They all outdo her lack there of. She’s often embarrassed to share a bath or go to a public bathhouse. Considering most people think she’s 10, no one really notices her anyway.

Her single most noticeable quality is that she loves to sleep. What’s there to say? Dreaming about tiger-shaped cookies that are cuddly AND edible are G-rrrrrreat! Bed is where she spends most of her free time, and some of her work time, and all of her night time.
