Bio

1. She is scary smart.
2. There is something not quite right about her, but it is hard to place.
3. She was raised by her grandfather, Thomas Stonehill, after she survived a mysterious house fire that killed her parents and siblings.

Aisling’s father, Damian Stonehill, was the son of Thomas Stonehill II and an unknown woman. Damian was conceived while Thomas II was still in possession the mantle of Merlin. Thomas II was raising Damian as a single parent When he was killed by Thomas I. When Thomas I discovered Damian, he decided to take the boy in and raise him as his own son.

When Damian came of age, he married Eleanor Hall. Together, they had three children – Aisling, Kale, and Zane. When Aisling was 10, her family was killed in a mysterious house fire. She was the only survivor. Aisling was taken in by her grandfather, Thomas I. He dotes on his granddaughter and has taken her on as a one of his pupils. Unfortunately for him, Aisling has learned about the long lost mantle of the Merlin – something she now wants to acquire for herself at any cost.

High School: After starting at her grandfather’s school, Aisling proved to be an excellent student and a favorite of the teachers. Little did they know, however, that she started a secret and illicit business of doing academic work for other students in return for money. Her best customers included Ivan and Trevor. Against all odds, she developed a crush on Alex – the nicest guy in school – and they started dating. Aisling realized that Sam had feelings for her and she played up to those in order to obtain his aid. After Sam asked her out, Aisling began dating him.

During Sophmore year, Thomas M. Stonehill arranged for Sam and Alex to discovered the fact that Aisling was seeing both of them. Alex broke up with Aisling and Sam continued to date her. During their Junior year, Sam broke up with Aisling to spend more time with his family. In response, Aisling stole some of Amanda Leighton’s notes and used them to construct a bomb. She used the bomb to destroy Sam’s home and make it look like an accident. Most of Sam’s family was killed as a result. No one ever discovered Aisling’s role in the crime.

During Senior year, Aisling and Alex agreed to begin dating again as long as each remained exclusive. He escorted her to prom and they maintained a relationship for a few years after Aisling left for college.

Throughout High School, Aisling engaged in various kinds of mischief. She paid a group of thugs to mug her and Alex on the monorail simply because she wanted to see how Alex reacted. She also provided her grandfather with information that made Coach look bad (resulting in his firing) and obscured Amanda Leighton’s drunken escapades during the winter dance (saving her job and earning her a promotion). She managed to acquire video of Spencer Sterling having sex with Alex’s underage sister. Aisling submitted the video to the police and arranged for Sterling to be arrested a sex offender during their senior year.

Throughout High School, Aisling overheard her grandfather talking to a helmet. She suspected the helmet may be the key to finding out how to regain the mantle of the Merlin. During the Winter Dance, she took advantage of a distraction (aka Sam kicking Trevor’s ass) in order to steal some tomes from the rare book room. She then smuggled them out of the school via the shop class using Sam’s help. She spent most of her summer vacation trying to decipher the tomes. In the end, she required the help of some ancient scrolls that mysteriously appeared on her desk… Unfortunately, her grandfather took the scrolls away before she was able to unlock the secrets of the helmet.

The University Years: Shortly after graduation, Thomas M. Stoneholl kicked Aisling out of the house. She gathered her belongings and left for Arhkam, Massachusetts, where she attended Miskatonic University on an Amadeus Arkham Scholarship. She graduated from university in three years with a joint degrees in Mathematics and Parapsychology. She went on to complete a doctoral thesis in two years and graduated with a Ph.D. in parapsychology from Mikatonic University. She was recently hired by Gotham University to run their Parapsychology program.

While at University, Aisling reached out to several noted occult scholars, mystics, mediums, and stage magicians. She developed relationships with them and used those relationships to acquire as much knowledge as she could that may help her figure out how to acquire the long lost mantle of the Merlin. Her studies revealed that there are several tomes and relics that may contain secrets that could help her in her quest. She has made it a priority to acquire these items through any means necessary. Her quest to obtain these items has, at times, brought her into conflict with Thomas M. Stonehill. Aisling now sees him as a rival and a potential threat that must be dealt with. As such, she has decided it may be wise to acquire some additional resources to help her deal with her meddlesome and dangerous relative.

Aisling continued dating Alex for approximately two years. During their first winter break, she arranged a romantic dinner at a rooftop restaurant and an overnight stay at the prestigious Park Row Suites. She visited him in Gotham various times. She once convinced him to give her a tour of Wayne Tech and she used the opportunity to steal some dangerous research secrets from the archives – notes collected by Jervis Tetch and Pamely Isly on hypnosis, brainwashing, and pheremones. Aisling later broke up with Alex after she discovered that he spent an inordinate amount of time with Amanda Leighton during a professional trade show. Aisling blames Amanda for stealing Alex away from her and intends to take revenge when the time is right…

Aisling maintained close ties with Rumi following graduation. While visiting Rumi in Japan, Aisling arranged for Rumi to be accosted by street toughs to see how she would handle the situation. The two later took a vacation together in Europe. While in Italy, Aisling snuck away from the hotel to steal a rare occult manuscript from the Vatican library. After returning to Gotham, Rumi saved Aisling from being captured by members of the Sicilian Mafia when she tried to rob them. In the process, the two discovered each other’s secret identies.

After high school, Aisling continued grooming Trevor Twelve for villany. After learning about his sick and twisted plans, Aisling gave him a copy of Pamela Isly’s notes on pheremones which he used to generate his lust inducing pheremonal perfumes. Trevor offered Aisling a job as a freelance operator for the Burnley Collective. Aisling agreed, seeing it as an opportunity to acquire money, weapons, and potential allies against her grandfather. Recently, Aisling assisted Trevor is stealing some data from Star Labs that he believes will help him restore Anna to life.

Shortly after returning to Gotham, Sam asked Asiling to go out with him for drinks. During the date, Sam apologized for breaking up with Aisling and said he would try to make things right. On their second date, however, Sam had to leave early because his little brother got hurt and needed to be taken to the hospital.

Shortly after starting work at Gotham University, Aisling encountered Spencer Sterling at a fund raiser. He donated a large sum of money to fund the parapsychology department. During the ceremony, the dean introduced Spencer as the smartest man alive. Aisling took it as a personal insult and a challenge. Since that time, the two have been engaged in an unending battle of wits. They trade increasingly difficult puzzles back and forth – each trying to stump the other. They also recently appeared on a local TV game show, E. Nigma’s Quiz Gauntlet, where they tied for first place – each beating out the computer contestant.

Aisling was amused when she saw Ray’s football career end on national television. When she discovered what hospital he was in, she sent an anonymous “get well” card along with flowers and a welfare application. Aisling has seen Michael a few times while visiting Alex at Wayne Tech. She has, however, steadily avoided him because she believes it is painful to watch him wasting his talents in a dead end job.

As Fatale, Aisling has had run ins with a few of the new vigilantes. She was apprehended by Vigil while trying to rob a mafia safe house. She escaped, however, by flirting with Vigil and slipping away while he was distracted. Foresight saw Fatale fighting with mafia thugs at the yacht club and jumped into help. After dealing with the thugs, Fatale and Foresight had a brief romantic encounter that was interrupted by the arrival of the police. Fatale later tricked Foresight into helping her rob another Mafia establishment.

Aisling was agreed to work for the League of Shadows in return for help reacquiring the mantle. While working for the League, she assassinated Spencer Sterling and stole a magical scarab from Steven Kyle. She used the Scarab to learn that the mantle has been in the possession of Thomas Stonehill her entire life. She murdered Thomas Stonehill to acquire the mantle, not realizing that by killing her grandfather she sent the mantle back to the Lords of Order. She bargained with Nabu to trade the scarab for the mantle of the Merlin. When she finally acquired it, the mantle gave her tremendous magical power… but it also inflicted a conscience on her. Due to her new found sense of morality, Aisling decided to devote herself to protecting and guiding Gotham. She decided, however, to do so using her own unique methods and means. She helped her friend Rumi take control of the League of Shadows. She now uses her position in the League to guide Gotham and maintain order in the city. She also used her new found powers to help a recently reincarnated Spencer Sterling learn the difference between revenge and justice.
