Angus Mòrs, known also as Angus the Great, is the son of Aonghas Mór and a grandson of Angus Macdonald, a principal participant in the 1038 rebellion of the Thane of Cawdor. Macdonald the Mormaer of Argyll was defeated by Macbeth Mormaer of Moray during the opening phase of the Battle of Seacliff, bending the knee to King Duncan I but forfeiting his families lordship over Argyll to Macbeth & the Moray ascendancy.
Since he reached maturity, Angus Mòrs has served as the Mormaer of Mull, a thane ruling over the small but strategically important Isle of Mull, in the inner Hebrides islands. He and his household keep guard diligently along the coast and seaways for signs of any major Norse invasion or incursions, a watchmen and Sea-Lord of the Western isles and inner Hebrides.
