Born on Mars, Monday May 13th, 2357 (SD 35679) to Fletcher and Charlene Shay. Learned to play violin at a young age, traveled around Mars attending private performance schools. Regarded as a rising talent in the musical field.

Inducted into Starfleet Academy in August of 2374 (SD 51517). Assigned several demerits during attendance, up to but not including a formal reprimand – mostly for fighting. Member of the Velocity team. All around average student. Counselor notes show aptitude for the Command path. Graduated into the Sciences division May 2378 (SD 54994) with degrees in Physical Sciences and Space Sciences. Assigned to Bermuda 337 Deep Space Observatory.

Bermuda 337 DSO attacked by Borg scout ship, October 2378 (SD 55361). Two causalities, and ENS Shay listed as MIA. Do to her actions, five other Starfleet personnel survive, and all research is destroyed before the Borg can acquire it. Paperwork started for a posthumous award of the Christopher Pike Medal to ENS Shay.

ENS Shay recovered from Borg ship by the USS Excalibur in July 2379 (SD 56020). Separated from the Collective, she undergoes rehabilitation under Starfleet observation.

December 2379 (SD 56397), ENS Shay is reinstated into active duty, becoming the first Liberated Borg Starfleet officer. She is assigned to the Vulcan Science Academy, and given the Medal of Commendation for her actions on Bermuda 337 DSO.

October 2380 (SD 57201.5), ENS Shay is assigned as a science officer on the USS Vigilant.
