Genkai was a man without a past, trying to build a future from fragmented memories. Having spent much of his time on the run from the law as a Robin Hood style Bandit he was hesitant to settle down. But having forged new friendships with the Rag-Tag Celestial Exalts out of Hearth-home, Genkai was well on his way to making a quiet life for himself as a Bandit Mercenary working for the Cult of the Illuminated. After surviving many battles throughout their adventures in the East and having lost an arm in the fight against a flying fortress, Genkai was on a new mission; to get a new arm. The party traveled for a short time, following rumors of a town of Alchemical Exalts only to arrive at the fabled town and be faced with Barrow Black and his Bandit Cult. They made quick work of the cult members, and banded together to take on their leader. But things didn’t stay simple for long. During the conflict it was revealed to Genkai that he was in fact the real Barrow Black and he had been left to die by the hand of his lieutenant who had taken his name. The battle dragged on until finally, with help and support from his friends, the false Borrow Black lay slain. Genkai, having killed Barrow Black, reclaimed his name, and his personality along with it. But unwilling to give up on his friends Genkai did not allow himself to be overcome by Barrow Black’s return. Inhabiting one mind, both Genkai and Barrow work to find some kind of equilibrium while helping each other with personal goals.
