What is available and what does he want? Also what time/money issues are involved?
Time is pretty much a meaningless factor, whole months have gone by.
As a balance issue, you want spells, buy them like scrolls. The same is true for Drogov. It can reflect on the prof not really needing spells, but willing to accept blandishments.

Just so I do it right the scroll cost is spell lvl x 25 x caster lvl so a 1st level spell costs 25gp while a 2nd level spell would cost 150gp (min 3rd lvl to cast)
