Zheng favours a Daopao (traditional Daoist robes), playing the role of a scholar or official of old. His family was old and proud of the purity of their Han bloodline, even when they spread to Hong Kong.

Zheng has a sharp, bird-like face and otherwise average build. He keeps his black hair in a traditional chinese-style topknot.

The Lin family played a vital role in Hong Kong as neutral arbiters among the dealings between the various Triad factions. They would ensure a neutral ground to settle peaceful (and less than peaceful) conflicts of territory and such. As a deeply spiritual family, they found themselves with a surplus of awakened members who used their talents to ensure spiritual guidance and protection, as well as careful monitoring for subtle manipulation of negotiations via mystical dealings.

However most recently, the Triads were wracked with a brutal war between the Red Dragons and the Yellow Lotus. While still claiming neutrality, it would seem the family had made enemies and in a structure hit, were almost completely wiped out.

Zheng Lin was outside Hong Kong during the event, and returned to find the main branch of his family wiped out, his parents dead and the fate of the family estate in question. As a proper son, he has dedicated himself to avenging his parents, cultivating his Triad connections and running the shadows to gain combat-worth allies and clues to the identity of the aggressors, even if this means he must work with gweilo.
