Bio

Marcus is a half human, half dragon. His mother is a dragon and his father was human. His mother loved his human father, and they lived together happily. But human dragon hunters killed his father, who died defending her. His mother, enraged at the death of her mate, slaughtered them all, then took him and brought him to live in the mountains until he was 85. He was raised to not trust humans.

At 85 years old, he left their home and started his journey. When he was 123, he met a man named Jerek, who was a retired mercenary and a mage. He became Jerek’s apprentice. Jerek betrayed him, trying to sell him for ingredients on the black market. Marcus went berserker, and slaughtered not only his traitorous master, the black marketeers who were there to buy his bits, but also the entire town, down to the smallest chicken.

He spends the next 836 years as a mercenary, killing humans for money, sport, or mood. 50 years ago, he was hired by a local Lord to wipe out a town that was not cooperating. But when he got there, there was a powerful mage. They battled. Their two strongest spells collided. The mage was killed, the town destroyed, and Marcus’s memory was partially lost. He remembers his name, age, mother, what he is… half human, half dragon… but does not remember what he did in the past, or how to do magic.

He meets a hedge witch after that who teaches him minor magics, and over the years he begins to remember minor war magics. He took a job as a caravan guard, protecting merchants from raiders, thieves, etc. That’s how he ended up in the Dales.
