Ryuji Kisaragi (L:6 C:6)
Human, Male; Mitsuhama Computer Technologies North America – Seattle CFO; brother of Yuusaku Kisaragi, the Yamaguchi-gumi, North America branch, Kobun. When their little brother, Fuyuki, was brutally murdered in a downtown cafe by goons from the Ciarniello family, the brothers turned to an outsider to exact their revenge. A morbid Seattle urban legend tells the story of how three Made Men who delivered themselves, in pieces, screaming, to the leaders of their Family. Regardless of the truth of the matter, there were several months when the Yakuza and the Mafioso didn’t so much as pass near each other. Ryuji considers Hazama to be like a member of the family for his service – and Hazama himself was glad to get the opportunity to spend some “quality time” with such particularly low-ranking animals and appreciates the Kisaragi brothers’ tacit agreement with his methods and philosophy. Ryuji finds Hazama’s methods to be a bit excessive at times, but sees some “artistry” in his work. He, of course, conveniently ignores some of Hazama’s more “colorful” opinions in light of the continued service they provide each other.
Robert “Doctor Bob” Friedman (L:2 C:3)
Unknown, male(?);Not really a doctor, obviously, Dr. Bob’s Handiwork is known throughout the Sprawl as the go-to place for precision weaponry; He takes all forms of payment, delivers on time, and takes good care of his ‘favorite’ customers. Its been rumored that the ‘Star turns a blind eye to him because they turn a tidy side profit pawning off impounded gear from the SINless to him. If you need something done right, you call the Doctor. The Doctor noticed Hazama’s frequent orders of needles and lengths of nanowire – a peculiar taste that would pique the attention of any discerning weapons dealer. Never having met in person (some say the Doctor doesn’t really exist – and if he did, he might not even have a face…), the Doctor remembers all his frequent customers.
Thag Helzburg (L:3 C:3)
Troll, Male; Thag has been working out of the Bellevue area for as long as anyone can remember – which is quite awhile for a troll; He creatively referred to himself as a “compost management specialist,” – i.e. a body remover – a euphemism he still finds clever enough for a laugh to this day, much to the chagrin of any poor sap in need of his “help.” Never without his favorite shovel and hacksaw, he spends his day hours happily tending the orchids at Fiori Floral Design downtown. Hazama, frequently in need of disposing of a body, met Thag through a fellow runner once. Thag appreciates Hazama’s thorough prep work, and having determined him to be a calm and exacting fellow, has been trying for some time to instill an appreciation of ikebana and bonsai in him.
Bio
An average kid from an average home in south Bellevue, Hazama never really applied himself. He was born with some magical ability, but didn’t think much of it at first, choosing to keep it secret. It was the first of many secrets he learned were necessary. As a teenager, he realized he could consciously influence others, and from that point on he became thoroughly cynical and bored. He figured if someone as lazy as himself could manipulate the human mind, then humans were pathetic creatures – and “mutants,” even worse. He finished school and, having sufficiently maniuplated his grades and recommendations by that point, entered a pre-medical school program. The presence of failure and inferiority bothered him, and as the only thing left that slightly interested him, he went with it. But that too was boring – although capable and building experience, he couldn’t be bothered to wait through the pace and “the basics”. Eventually, he dropped out, working odd jobs and spending what he had on back room magic lessons. A chance encounter with a robbery in progress changed his life. Considering the criminal to be a pathetic demonstration of weakness and desperation, even for a non-human, and thus not to be missed, he caught the man outside of the store he had robbed and took control of his mind. He had always performed “experiments” on his own, but such an opportunity was not to be missed. Some days later in cleaning up, he decided it was a decent enough way to pass the time. He searched and found simple bounties at first before meeting enough people to start doing real runs.
