Age is something that few people want to talk about. Children don’t care about it, yound adults try not to think about it, middle aged people can start to feel it weight, and the elderly are over it. And that’s just for humans. Once you get into the undying creatures of the night such a vampires and ghosts, age becomes a whole new monster. It makes some cynical, while making others down right crazy, still others seek for a greater meaning. After a certain point though just living can seem down right tedious.
Immortals who manage to live for far beyond normal human lives, find their likes, disklikes, loves, hates, amplified. Think about those habits that annoy you, then multiply them my a few millenia. Because of this these immortals normally become recluses. They wander into their corner of reality and do what they enjoy.
That is unless something forces them together. Something so great that it threatens the fabric of reality itself. You see immortals do all share one thing, they like who and what they are. One does not live for thousands of years without liking oneself, otherwise they would have walked off a bridge long ago.
This is what brings our highly unlikely cast together for this story. Not the bridge part, but the threatening of reality itself. In the not to distant past there was a shudder that went through all reality. You and I didn’t feel it, because we’re mortal. However those beings who’s life isn’t tied to some mortal form, but to something greater then even our universe. They felt it. And they came from the dark recesses of existence to find out just what the hell is going on.
