Tiax is the utterly insane gnomish cleric/thief of Cyric (the utterly insane god of lying and evil). Tiax is, possibly, the single most insane character in the entire series, and that is honestly saying something. He believes Cyric has proclaimed him to rule Toril (the world you’re on) and that though he hasn’t quite taken over yet his time will soon come

When asked about his past, Tiax ignores you entirely, preferring instead to loudly proclaim what is in store for his future. He obviously worships Cyric, but also seems to share a touch of his madness. Tiax unquestioningly believes that he is destined to rule the world, and his fervor makes him blind to the ridiculous nature of the goal. He seems harmless enough for now.
Tiax was a wandering cleric of Cyric. Not nearly as mad as his god, but insane nonetheless, Tiax claims that Cyric has granted him visions of world domination and he has made it his life’s mission to fulfill those visions, attempting to create a worldwide theocracy in Cyric’s name. He was not very successful in this endeavour, but it did not stop him from reminding everyone who he met of his goal. Over and over again.

Recruitment: He is found in the asylum of the Cowled Wizards

Personal Quest: Tiax’s old cult returns to try to put him down, becasue he is giving them a bad name. If they don’t kill Tiax, they will eventually uncover the the cult, which is trying to create a spell that will destroy the sun….this won’t work. However, it could potentially cuse a wild magic zone, so it would be good to take out the group anyways.

Death: Is killed during the sacking of the city fighting against the 5 traitor Cowled Wizards, who is able to kill to the surprise of everybody in the world.
