Backstory

The Tear of Mahte is a Star Saphire the size of a closed fist with five iridescent lines emanating from its center. It is said that it first made its appearance right after the God Palatine was captured by the Gods of Evil in the Southern Empire. When the goddess Mahte heard of His capture and that she was going to be the next to be made a prisoner in the Hall of Sorrows, she fled the Southern lands running across the skies of the world. As she cried tears of fear for herself and the world left to Tiamat, storms brewed and rain fell all over creation.

It is said the when she was captured she forsaw what was to happen to her followers and the inhabitants of the lands she called home and she shed one more tear before being crucified in the Hall of Sorrows. This tear fell to the ground and was swallowed up by the land.

It is thought that this star sapphire is all that is left of her love for the world and therefore must have powerful healing powers contained within. It was said to have been taken from her lands many years ago by the last of her clerics who wanted to use its divine power to imprison beings of Chaos since it was the Lords of Chaos who imprisoned her. Its current location is not known.
