Iron Kingdoms
OUR STORY SO FAR
Iron Kingdoms: The Gears of Time takes place in the world of the Iron Kingdoms created by Privateer Press. This campaign follows the adventures of an unlikely group of “Heroes.” The two loudest voices in the party comes from the Sexopants Brothers (PC 1&2), a pair of Trollkin fell callers, who were hired on as extra mussel for a voyage along the coast of the Iron Kingdoms. Joining the brothers we have their most recent manager, a rather odd little Gobber who has proven to be quite useful in a pinch (PC 3). After embarking our three adventurers developed an understanding with the ships First Mate, a former Ordic Naval Man who has been forced into hiding after an unfortunate Skigg accident (PC 4);
As an aside for those who do not know what the hell Skiggs are, here is a brief description. They are terrier sized rat like things that were once kept as pets due to their calm demeanor. This changed however when an unfortunate armory attendant brought his into work with him one day and the damn thing got into the gunpowder. You see for whatever reason the Skiggs love the stuff, it’s like fucking catnip to them and well due to a bizarre twist of anatomy they became…volatile when exposed.
Near the beginning of their voyage our adventurers happened upon stories of kidnappings in the Gobber district of a coastal town where they had made port. The adventurers quickly learned that the disappearances where the work of a local group of thugs who had been hired by a strange woman to bring Gobbers to her ship. Without heed the adventures set forth to liberate the Gobbers who had been taken. Upon boarding the ship and defeating the crew they learned that the Captain, now slain, had been a servant of the Cryxian Litch Lord Terminus and in her possession they found a strange chest with 8 locks and a box of gear shaped gold coins that the first mate quickly tucked away for “safe keeping.” Liberating the Chest and now on the run due to the ruckus they caused our adventurers hastily made way for the next costal town on their voyage.
Sadly their voyage was forced off course by a storm that threw it deep into the heart of Cryx Here they were, in a poor stroke of luck, beset upon by the Black-ship Atramentous and promptly shipwrecked on a tempret island.
There the adventures met an unlikely companion in the form of a Journeyman Warcaster who had been shipwrecked some years previous (PC 4). Having gone a little cough cough crazy this man had lost most of his memories from the time before the island and had gone feral.
Eventualy putting two and two togeather they realized that the strange gold coins were actualy the keys to the chest. Upon opening the chest they discovered it to hold an ancient looking cortex that, to their new warcaster friend, looked odd and almost clockwork in its design.
While on the island the adventurers learned of a Statixian Raiding encampment to the south and thus formulated a plan to raid it for a new ship. With the aid of a local Nyss tribe who were native to the island they successfully pulled off a siege of the Encampment. In the hope to find some “shinnies” the adventurers pushed into the encampment in order to gain access to a large storehouse they had seen while making way toward the encampment. Upon reaching the storehouse they were ambushed by two heavy Steam-Jacks led by a Statixian Warcaster wearing as strange suit of armor. The following battle ebbed and flowed during which the party began to become dismayed when the enemy caster didn’t immediately go down under the combined might of the Sexopants Brothers due to the powerful force field of her warcaster armor.
Eventualy the caster fell as the force generator on her armor failed and the brothers were able to land a blow. After the battle they fown what appeared to be the chassie of a strange and quite large warjack whose designe matched that of the odd cortext they had found earlier. Taking this jack and the strange armor of the enemy warcaster our adventurers fled on a stolen boat as the statixis rallied their troops.
