Bio

Crother was probably left by a caravan or wandered off on his own while traveling through the forest several years ago. He’s not sure of his surname or age, but guesses around 13 or 14. He’s been living half in the woods, half in the streets. Though very resourceful and good at stealing, he’s also got some sort of a conscience and doesn’t like to take things that people would need. He liked to play with the other kids in the town, but usually only did so in big groups, when adults weren’t looking, so some of the kids in the town know him. Mostly, due to his unkempt black hair and his scavenger living, they call him Crow. The nickname also helps the other kids cover up for him (“That’s just Crow”). He does show up to town events, when there are big crowds. Some people in the town have taken a notice of him, but he doesn’t talk much when questioned by adults and gets away as soon as he can. Father Prasst sometimes leaves out food for Crow (and he sometimes leaves things in return, horns or animal pelts he’s found in the forest) and turns a blind eye when he sleeps in the temple when it’s really cold out. Sometimes he leaves an offering for Erastil because he knows he needs help in the woods and Father Prasst is nice. Olmira Treesong and Arnama Lastrid are also aware that he’s living in the woods.

Recently, Jimes Iggins caught Crow stealing food from the Seven Silvers and sensed a kindred spirit. He also managed to lure Crow out of secrecy and confide a bit in him. They’ve been meeting for a year or two almost weekly to talk about the town and “Short Change” has been giving him training and tips and some letters in exchange for odd errand jobs (some of which may have dubious or practical joking motivation). Crow’s smart and picks up things quickly. They’ve got a good-natured ongoing battle to see who can steal the most change from each other while playing cards, though Jimes usually manages to get back whatever Crow steals.
