Brutal Human Fighter
Alyaa is a simple woman with simple aims in life. She has green eyes and dark hair, and a tattoo on the left side of her face, representing writhing thorns. she rarely is seen out of her armour and even rarer seen without her Greataxe. Alyaa is very competitive, strong, stubborn, impatient, and extremely ill-tempered. She is undiplomatic, believing in the use of brute force and coercion to get her way. She is also a heavy drinker and very foul-mouthed.
She is a merciless and sadistic killer without a conscience who will kill anyone at the slightest provocation, even unarmed civilians.
Alyaa has lived most of her young life as an Urchin in Kagen. She went to Kagen with her parents when she was 6 and was separated from them. Alyaa isn’t sure how this happened or where they went, but she never saw either of them again. Lost and Alone, Alyaa chose to continue to look for them by day, learning to steal what she needed where she could. Her repeat offences at theft and breaking and entering failed to bring any sympathy from the law and simply regarded her tale as ‘just another sob story’ to get out of the trouble she was in. She tried everything to get people to care, and when they didn’t she tried religion. Still her silent calls for help went unanswered until finally when she was 13 her perspective altered. She’d broken into a barn in order to escape a particularly cold evening and was caught by the farmer who owned it. At first she thought he’d get the guard, but he offered her kind words and care that she thought she had wanted all this time. He took her back to his home getting her a blanket and wrapping her up next to the fire in his living area. She fell asleep in the comforting warmth until she was awoken by the farmers hands, touching her inappropriately. Her shock turned to panic and she tried to push him off, but the man wrestled her to the floor, being much stronger than her. Her flailing gave her hope as something solid landed in her palm and she grabbed and swung it reflexively. The farmer was struck in the head, enough to daze him and allow her to wriggle away from him. Blood had splashed her face and rags the man holding the side of his head and moaning in pain. Alyaa looked to the bloodied axe in her hands, used for chopping wood initially. Her grip tightened on it’s handle, seeing the torn parts of her clothing the man had struggled with during the fight. Alyaa knew now it didn’t matter how much she cried, prayed or begged, nothing and no one would help her. Tears of Rage in her eyes the man begged her forgiveness right up until she swung once more. She swung time and again into the mans head until the axe dug ruts into the floorboards beneath it. Then unable to let go of her lifeline she fled with the axe into Kagen and was never heard from again.
Alyaa now works as a mercenary for hire in the employ of Zoltan. She cares nothing for love, companionship or belief because they care nothing for her. No gods saved her from danger, no kindly stranger ever helped her without taking something from her in return. In the end the only thing she really values anymore is money.
she doesn’t mention her past to anyone or really feel like talking about it.
Constantly living on the edge of life, Alyaa has developed a rather bleak, almost nihilistic outlook on life, relying only on her own power, skills, and money. She does not believe in religions or emotions. However, she seems to respect and trust those she works for. One of her funnier aspects being quite forgetful, implying that her brash attitude caters to her stupidity.
