Bio
Gaston is the brother of King Louis XIII and heir-presumptive to the throne of France should the childless Louis die. Called simply “Monsieur,” the traditional title of the King’s brother, Gaston (b. 1608) is a bon vivant, wildly popular with the people of France and adored by his doting mother, Marie de’ Medici. He is at once ambitious and irresponsible, with a taste for debauched excess.
His closest ally is Jean-Baptiste d’Ornano, comte de Montlaur, the prince’s personal governor.
