Bio
A member of the illustrious House of Guise, Claude (b. 1578) is the younger brother of Charles, duc de Guise. Chevreuse is the Grand Chamberlain of France, one of the keepers of the King’s household; he is also the king’s royal falconer.
In 1622 he married a young widow, Mme de Luynes, with an eye to both her beauty and her inheritence. The widow, now the duchesse de Chevreuse, is the head of household for the Queen of France.
Despite being married to one of the most beautiful and intelligent women in France, the duke maintains a variety of mistresses. He is presently involved in the royal marriage negotiations between England and France.
