Bio

Bernard (b. 1592) is the second son of the duc d’Épernon and his first wife, Marguerite de Foix, comtesse de Candale (d. 1593). In 1622, Bernard married Gabrielle-Angélique de Verneuil, a legitimised daughter of King Henri IV, with whom he has both a son and a daughter,

Like his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bernard pursues a career in the military, serving in the campaigns against the Huguenots in 1621 and 1622.
