Aramis is the nom de guerre of a member of the King’s Musketeers, one of a trio of noteworthy swordsmen in the company.

Aramis claims to be serving in the musketeers only until such time as he takes vows to become a priest, However, he is considered an intelligent but diffident student. Aramis is better known for his mistresses and his skill with the rapier.

He is served by a lackey named Bazin, a pious man who looks forward to the day when Aramis takes his vows, so that he can serve a member of the clergy.
