Amaras was the second born of elven druid Valies and was very close to his mother. He showed natural talent as a child for the druidism so his mother included him on many of her trips into the forest teaching him. A disservice in many ways for the child never learned how to deal with other elves very well and even was distant from his mothers other two children. He also expressed his dislike of his older half brothers and sisters which his mother admonished him for it “Our family is like a wolf pack my son. Your father is the alpha and it is right to take a new make when he chooses. Even though they are not from my body they are still your family through him and you need to protect them as I would you.”
The two of them roamed the forest for many years together and it was on one of those trips they stumbled upon a devil who was in the process of slaughtering a family of panthers. Awed beyond words as he watched his mother destroy the creature he ended up helping saving the last member of the cats. As the years passed the small kitten grew and was soon as big as the boy as the years passed he noticed the cat was not as quick as before and her fur has gone gray in places. When he asked his mother what was wrong she explained “She is not like you or I. She age very quickly and I fear she is reaching the end of her life and soon will die.” was what she told him but she offered him a solution “There is a ritual my son that only we druids can perform. It will bond your soul with Nil’sha’s and make you both one being. She will in essence have part of your soul in her body and live the years a elf would…you will gain part of her soul and thus you will gain some of her bestial nature.”
With out concern the ritual was performed it was not long after this that Valies vanished with out warning leaving her son behind and alone. Never having much of a strong relationship with his father he nonetheless went to him for aid and pleaded with his father to help find her. “We have done all we can to locate her my son to no avail. I can spare no more time though.” those words were as if his father had punched him in the stomach. “I hate you…I hate you more then anything the world!” Amaras screamed before feeling the palace. For nearly forty years Amaras lived alone in the forest with Nil’sha shunning others of his kind. He searched everywhere for his mother even going to the Glade of Songs which seeing that place now tore at his heart. But no matter where he searched he found no sign of her. Over time the pain of losing her fled and his hate of his father dimmed for realized why he had given up the search so easy. Then one day as if a switch had been thrown he spoke to his only friend “It is time we go home Nil’sha. Mother is gone but my siblings remain and I can’t not leave them.” so with those words hey went home once more.
