Bio

Celestial was born to a mostly normal tribe of Druids. She says mostly normal because, while they lived in the forest and often communed with nature, they also lived fairly close to a bustling city of Waterdeep and thus became accustomed to outsiders roaming around their area setting up camp and endangering the wildlife on a daily basis. Where most Druids would move farther into the woods, Celestial’s family didn’t mind so much as they generally frowned upon cultural ignorance. Each tourist left knowing more about the forest than when they came, and Celestial’s family knew more about the outside civilizations should they ever need to assimilate.

Near to the Druid’s glade lived a group of Gypsies during part of the year. During these years of Celestial’s life she met a girl named Talion and they became friends for a short amount of time. Eventually though, Celestial’s extended family wished to move away as the tourists were coming in more and more. Most of them heard from others that a group of Druids in the area was very hospitable, and it was becoming too much. They moved farther into the woods and were no longer contacted by outsiders, but Celestial also no longer had contact with Talion. She was sad, but she vowed never to forget the person she felt to be her only true friend.

At this point, Celestial started focusing on her life within the Druid community. She was being pushed to figure out what role in their society she would fill. Reflecting on her younger days, she realized she had an affinity for birds and would attempt to become a scout. Through this, she was trained under an Elder and eventually came to be friends with a very fierce and loyal falcon. Celestial felt a kinship with the falcon as she too was loyal to those she befriended.

Now with her Falcon by her side and generally set to posts on the outskirts of their dwellings to keep watch, Celestial often wandered off post and closer to the city. She was merely curious of the workings of other places. Her existence was pretty straight forward: listen to what the Elders say or be shunned from he community. While she enjoyed her people and their ways, a burning curiosity to see the world flooded her veins every time she laid eyes on something ‘outside.’

This curiosity, this desire led her to many experiences that her Elders eventually found out and had issue with. While Celestial doesn’t typically like to go into too much detail about these events, she typically reflected on them fondly, seeing them not as errors of her ways but as learning experiences. The Elders weren’t so nice and had her on lock-down, babysitting the younger kids in the very center of town where all eyes could see her. She put up with this life for only a matter of days before a dream shook her. At that point, she packed her belongings – taking the noble clothes and other things she collected from Waterdeep – and left to save her friend.

While Celestial seems friendly, it is typically a ruse. She finds it the best way to interact with people until she can see whether she really likes them or not. If she does take a liking to you, it will seem a bit obsessive. As with Talion, she never forgot and still considers her to be a very good friend, even if Talion doesn’t see it the same way. She has no shame in showing her loyalty to those who strike her interest.
