Needs Must When The Devil Drives’

Many don’t realize that the Seattle area has been inhabited for at least the last 4,000 years, but European settlement began only in the mid-19th century. The first permanent white settlers didn’t arrive until late 1851.
In 1853, Doc Maynard suggested that the main settlement be renamed “Seattle”, an anglicized rendition of the name of Sealth, the chief of the two local tribes. From 1869 until 1982, Seattle was known as the “Queen City”. Seattle’s current official nickname is the “Emerald City”, the result of a contest held in the early 1980s; the reference is supposedly because of the lush evergreen trees in the surrounding area. Seattle is also referred to informally as the “Gateway to Alaska”, “Rain City”, and “Jet City”, the latter from the local influence of Boeing. Seattle residents are known as Seattleites.

At least, that is how humans account their history. Seattle has a long history. And not all of it is recorded by Man. These days Changelings, Vampires, Werewolves, Mages, Witches and the occasional Psychic all call the Rain City home. If it had dreams, desires and a need to lose it self in the world of man, its most likely either been here, or made its home here.
The balance of power has shifted over the last decade, and the ripples are only now being felt. And those whom keep their fingers on the life pulse of the city (or drink from it) feel a stirring that has not been tended for Milena.
The rain is more pronounced. The nights are darker. Things prowl them. Yet mankind endures, or ignores their danger in the face of new heroes. Hunters, and those whom would protect their city are slowly rising to the call.
