Bio

Thanos is a quiet man until met on the battlefield, his yells and howls ring out in unison with the swings of his large heavy axe.

Thanos grew to adulthood in a small tribe just outside of the Hinter Wald, only a day’s ride from Two-Rivers. Born during the particularly harsh winter of 894 in the month of Elder, his mother feels this to be the reasoning of his stark white hair, the shaman and the other wise men of his tribe have another theory. Thanos spent his childhood and teen years being taught the ways of the forest, how to track and kill an animal for food, how to use every part of the animal, and identifying various plants and their medicinal uses. He was also taught the teachings of Willow and how they relate to his people.

Having little interaction with folk outside his tribe he wanted to know more. Thanos traveled to the city of Crossing to find a world so much different than the one he was accustomed to. He found himself on the city streets filled with the traders that have traveled from across the lands to sell their wares, with women that offered themselves to him in hopes of acts of debauchery, and with men who delighted themselves in drink and the women who so desperately threw themselves at him.

Thanos could hardly believe what he had found there. He ran for the gates of the city hoping to escape from what he had seen only to find himself deeper inside the city. He looked around wondering as to why the people were starting to gather in the nearby square, he soon found the answer as he pushed his way towards the front and heard the the thud of an axe chopping heavily into wood, he looked up to see the head of a man roll across the boards of the raised platform and the body slump to the floor. The people cheered as the executioner grabbed the next to be beheaded, a woman. He was appalled at the thought of what was about to happen and he leaped up onto the platform, howling out in fury he wrestled with the executioner and finally ripped the axe from the man’s grasp, his arms swelled as lifted the axe high and brought it down atop the man’s head the blade sinking well into his chest, nearly cleaving him in two. The crowd panicked and screamed out in horror and started to flee. Thanos had never killed a man before and he too felt panicked and ran through the streets, the bloody axe clenched tightly in his fist as he bolted outside the gates. He stopped only once to look back at the city and then down at the axe, deciding to keep it as a reminder of the barbaric nature of the people of the city.
