Santos Eipoc

Male Human Cleric (5)

Santos Eipoc

Description

Bio

Born into a lower class family as Santos de Melan, Santos adored his parents and all they had was each other. He was a child of powerful imagination and creativity. This turned into bountiful games and years of excitement.

The day came when a local priest noticed the young boy’s passion and how he could lead many of the other children in games and thought the child prime for becoming a priest himself and thus one day being able to lead his own flock.

In the chantry he learned much and came to understand the word of the Light very well, ancient texts about Light whom the world had all but forgotten. He forgot most of the material world and devoted himself to learning from his superiors. An idea came upon some of the higher priests however to promote the healing might of their Deity. In truth it was why Santos was selected in the first place. He would become one of the first true Clerics. Many of the acrcanists had dabbled into the healing arts, but the idea of a sole Cleric was new to the world and Santos would be one of them.

To create such a being demanded absolute faith in the Light though. There could be no wavering for to have doubt would be to cut off your connection to god and therefore lose the blessing you had been given. Santos was locked away, devoted to study, but only study in religion, and he no longer saw anything of the outside world. Some would say he had been brainwashed, he sees it more as a being focused on the larger picture.

When the man Santos emerged he was sent out from the chantry to spread the word of the Light; to rid the world of the evil spawn that may be vomited from the innards of evil as Santos Eipoc (taking on a new name to renounce his material world life). He was to be a symbol, a light, and the prime example of all that is perfect and good about the Light. There are now a many like him in the world, Clerics, some fearing their talents, some saying they’re not possible, or not to be trusted. Still, whether he knows why or not, he feels his purpose is pure, and that no foul play was committed at all in his being taken as a child as a new breed of religious crusader. To him, it was the Light’s will.
