Ground Rules for "Off the Reservation"


Character Builds: You may draw 2 sets of 12 cards and choose which set you want to keep. Other than that, standard character creation rules. There are no restricted character archetypes. However the story will lean heavily towards what is happening with the Native Americans during this time of the Weird West if that influences your choice. If you end up with a Mysterious Past I will draw that for you.

Backgrounds: Please post a short character background in the bio section of your character sheet, why are you motivated to travel the West? If you choose to be a Veteran of the Weird West this bio must be more extensive.

Rules of Play

Post Frequency: PbP only moves as fast as the slowest poster, and combat can get painfully slow if one person is not posting. I will check in fairly frequently. Please post at least 1x per day on weekdays. If you go several days without posting I will move on without you and you risk being dropped.

OOC: There will be a separate thread for OOC comments. If you must make OOC comments in game, make sure you designate them as such.

Chips: Players will get 3 new “chips” every week. As per the normal game rules you can have no more than 10 chips at a time. I will try to work out a method for random chip draw online, failing that I will simply draw from a bag on your character’s behalf and notate your character sheet.

Bounty Points: I will hand out BP when appropriate.

Dice: Die Rolling will be done with Obsidian Portal’s die roller. Everyone’s on the honor system.

“If” Statements: To facilitate smoother play I will accept a well thought out “If” statement. For example, “If the zombie attacks the Injun I will run and grab the knife, if the zombie attacks me I will attempt to shoot it in the head”

Initiative: Not sure how to handle this, any suggestions?
