Flamerule the 29th – Eleasis the 7th
It was two long days before the army returned to Wellspring, and spirits were low. They had seen the army from Cumberland first hand and they did not like their chances. However, they had done well at the battle the Archway and they may have bought the time they needed for the army from Highmoor to arrive. The army finally arrived at their door and on the 7th of Eleasis, the Cumberlandians made ready their assault. Just when they thought it was too late, they heard horns from the north. Highmoor had come.

Flamerule the 10th – Flamerule the 29th
(We interrupt our regularly scheduled adventure log with an important announcement. Our out of game issues were resolved, and the original party members have rejoined forces. As such, the characters were retconned yet again back to their original, non-gestalt forms. We apologize for the long hiatus, if anyone actually reads these adventure logs, but we will hopefully be back on track. We are sorry for the interruption, and now back to the regularly scheduled adventure).
After defeating the Berseker Prelate, the party decided to search the rest of the ruined temple. Appearing mostly deserted, the party found what appeared to be a chamber for the preparation of sacrifices. Old dried blood caked the floors and walls, leading to a rusted drain in the center. The sights were too much for Ember, causing flashes of memories, long since buried. After the memories faded, leaving Ember with questions, but no answers, the party continued to search around, finding what appeared to be the belongings of some of the unfortunate townsfolk. Among these effects, they found a blank black scroll, with an identical seal as the one they found in Garreth’s possession. Taking it, they were eager to leave the accursed temple for the last time.

During the Battle of the Archway, Flamerule the 29th
The Battle Rages around me, both friend and foe fall at my feet.
As I began to look around me out of the corner of my eye i see a bolt of dark magic come towards me.
Before I can turn a cloaked archer dives from the wall and takes the hit for me. His sword I recognize, finely etched with Elvish words.
“Father is that you?”
“There is no time, my son,” he says.
I turn and see the Darklord himself. Glonin Krak King of the Goblin Tribes of Angor Rok.
He Speaks.

The Night before the Battle for the Archway, Flamerule the 28th.
I gaze at the stars above and remember once what Elrin told me the night before the battle of Angor Rok.
The night before he died.

Flamerule 28th, 154 AE
It has been awhile since I last wrote, and too much has happened in too short a time to adequately explain what I am feeling as I write this, but the emotion is clear:
Shame.
Alecar is back. I have had too many chances to explain to him how I feel, but every time I end up ruining the mood by saying something incredibly stupid. I don’t even know why I bother, I can’t imagine he’d be interested in a foolhardy girl like me, anyway.
Over the past few weeks, I have had to say too many goodbyes. While I was more than happy to help Byron last time we were in Fallcrest, I do not think he fully understands how much it breaks my heart every time I ride away from him. Sometimes I worry if my feelings for Alecar are genuine, or if they are just distractions from a love I am unsure of.

10th of Flamerule
A strange feeling brushes over me. Like we’ve got ourselves into more than we can handle. We recently came closer to death than I’d like, barely escaping with our lives. We saw a vision of a demon god that Ember recognized as the Prince of Undeath. I think we have got ourselves a little bit more than we can chew.

Flamerule the 1st – Flamerule the 10th
Following the festival of The Boon of Luminos, Ember and Solaren decided to make their way back to Fallcrest. Taking their time, they arrived in the outskirts after about 8 days. As they had been approaching the weather was quite gloomy and rainy. Not fun traveling weather. As they were riding into town, they began to realize that even accounting for the weather, the outlying farms were rather quiet. Then they came across one that had burned to the ground, and there was no longer any doubt. Something was seriously wrong.

Kythorn 30th, 154 AE
I hate him for leaving!
No, that’s not true; I hate him for leaving me behind. For not trusting me to come with him, to help him with this. Have I been so blind? What if he does not feel for me what I feel for him? Stupid girl, so caught up in your idle fantasies that you forgot he is a warrior! Why should he be interested in a simpering awestruck little girl when he could have a warrior princess at his side?
He says he left for family business. He probably won’t even come back.
And why should I care? All he does is break promises, anyway.
He told me he’d take me to the festival that starts tomorrow; it was supposed to be our first date.
I guess he had better places to be.

24th of Kythorn
Vintra has given me information regarding my father. He goes by the nickname “Raven” now.
That was all she knew. I had another bonding moment with Ember, as we seem to be
getting used to each other. It is good to enjoy the company of others again,
it’s been so long since I’ve let anyone into my life. After the death of Elrin and my
Father’s betrayal i had shut myself off. I think these companions are growing on me.
There was this fair i guess they hold every year. I entered and Archery Contest and won.
I gave the gift to Ember and she seemed to really enjoy it. We than had a few drinks and
supposedly there were fireworks, but i hardly remember them.

Kythorn the 18th – the 5th day of the Boon of Luminos
(We interrupt this adventure log with an important public service announcement. Some changes and retconning occurred prior to this session, having lost a player due to unforeseen circumstances. Some changes include: Alecar did not return to the temple with the PCs, he was unfortunately called away by the temple in Highmoor, because they had received word that his brother was in trouble in Harrington. With only two PCs now, we’ve changed gears to use the gestalt variant, so that two players can take the roles of 4. While this hasn’t changed any of the storyline, they now have abilities that they didn’t before. Sorry for the interruption, let’s get back to our regularly scheduled adventure.)
We return to our party in the Temple section of Slaughterguarde, having killed numerous drow and other foul creatures. Continuing their search, they stumbled across, and summarily slew several other species of monster, such as some zombies and a sole gargoyle. After collecting their loot from these easy marks, they headed north into another part of the compound. They came upon a T-intersection, with a large double door at one end, and a fiery demon arch at the other. Solaren, having rightly developed a fear of fire, decided that he didn’t want to go through another fire arch, so they kicked in the double doors and were immediately shot in the face by the two surprised wererats.
