Byron always spoke of how beautiful the outer planes of Celestia would look; of its ever flowing fountains, its endless groves of peach trees and smiles on every denizens face. He always spoke of it with such longing that he made it seem something of a cruel fate to live, knowing that such a paradise awaited those who passed on to the great beyond.
But I passed on, and I did not see Celestia. I saw a place I have seen a thousand times, late at night when I am lost in my dreams. It was the brass palace, only this time, the throne was not empty as it had always been. Seated like a regal being of complete and utter nobility, a man of fire that I immediately recognized stared back at me, unapproving.

18th of Kythorn
A devastating couple days have passed. It has been a terrible week for our fellowship. A battle we engaged in with a massive spider resulted in the loss of a limb in which my sweet
Ember almost died. She lost her hand but was saved by Alecar. I hide my feelings behind my sarcasm but i don’t know what I’d do without the girl. She has such fire in her eyes but deep inside she has a heart as soft as water. I will do my best to protect her, to prevent her from experiencing the pain and shock i saw her go through. I won’t let anything happen to her again, i promise.

Kythorn the 15th – 18th
We return with the party still on the tail of the drow priestess. After looking around the room with the dwarf-sized spiders, they continued south. Approaching the door, they realized that it was open a crack and there was a sickly green light deep in the room. In typical Alecar fashion, he kicked in the door and headed in. What he saw stopped him dead in his tracks. Literally. A spider, the size of a small building, with glowing red eyes and dripping fangs, lay in wait for them across the room. As soon as Alecar stepped into the room, the spider launched a glob of webbing at him, gluing him to the floor. The drow priestess was waiting here too, and launched a spiritual weapon at Solaren, but he managed to evade the attack.

Alecar looks so fragile when he thinks he’s talking to Evelyn. His eyes take on a tenderness that hides the warrior within him, which is a shame, because that same warrior he strives to choke down would be twice the man his convictions prevent him from being.
A pity the priest couldn’t be more like Solaren. I know Evelyn hates him, but that cat is my kind of crazy; although he complains too much. A little fire never killed anybody. Besides, he’s a cat, right? He’s got nine lives, what’s it matter to him if he loses one or two to the sexiest heat he’ll ever know?

I’m a fool!!! I can’t believe it, i killed him. I Killed Cyrus! Our time was so short
together. We entered a room with a switch to ring hanging bells, thinking perhaps it was a good idea and would provide access to another room I rang them. Little did i know
it was a trap, something I should of sensed coming. And because of it i injured Ember
and killed my new wolf companion. May you rest well Cyrus, I will not forget our time together
and the memories you evoked in me.

Kythorn the 12th – Kythorn the 14th
Our session begins with the party rested and relaxed after a couple days in Sumberton, having enjoyed the spoils from the laboratory. On the morning of Kythorn the 12th, the party headed out to see what they could find at the Surrinak Hunting Lodge. On the way to the lodge, the party had to stop and camp for the night. During Solaren’s watch, a large black wolf strolled into camp. It didn’t appear to be hostile, it just seemed to be curious about Solaren. The wolf stared down Solaren, but eventually the wolf bowed to Solaren, trotting up to him. This simple act formed a bond between Solaren, and the black wolf, Cyrus.

Today i met a new friend. A creature of the woods, a wolf I took as my own. I named him Cyrus. I remember my father had one that looked just like him when I was little. All the fun times we had running through the hills hunting boar and deer. It brings back the few memories I have where I actually got to be a child. Talking to him he seems like a very noble creature. Soon we’ll get to see him in combat. He will make a good warrior i think.

I’m learning better control, now, but I think I’m starting to agree that there are times where it is simply best to let Ember do the fighting. For all my effort, I fell unconscious twice in as many hours while seeking out some stolen spices from the local merchant’s guild.
It was a dangerous mission, but the promise of information leading to the whereabouts of Solaren’s father was too good to pass up, so we headed off to a valley in the southwest. On the way, we were waylaid by bandits who valued their purses more than their own lives.
Why are some people so foolish?

Well, I experienced a rather horrific moment today. I was shot by our newest companion Cinnamon. You’d think with a name that sweet she wouldn’t be dangerous. Note to self don’t trust girls and bows. Thankfully my good friend Alecar was there to mend my wounds. Not to mention the girl is allergic to me. Who’s allergic to me? I brush my hair, and i bathe! Thankfully we were soon out of that dank dungeon and Cinnamon was on her way again. The best part of this whole experience was definitely the money. And lots of it.

Kythorn the 9th – Kythorn the 11th
Pick up where we left off, we find the party in a creepy operating room with utensils on the walls that every once in a while weep blood. It’s fairly obvious that at least at one time, horrific experiments and tortures were carried out here.
Getting out of there as quickly as possible, the party completed their loop of the western section of the laboratory. However, in the last room connecting them back to the main hall, Solaren noticed parallel grooves in the floor. Finding this curious, but with no real way to find and remove any traps they find, he decided to improvise. He went back to the previous chamber and grabbed a hobgoblin corpse, brought it back, and threw it into the next room.
