Baronet Bartholomew hault-Wurzburg
Imperial Ambassador to Flexos
Description
Bio
Batholomew always hated living on the practically uninhabited airless rockball that had been bequeathed to the family many generations ago. He never endeared to himself to his family by often wondering out loud how minor an act someone would need to perform in order to be awarded such a useless dirtball – perhaps once opening a door for a Marquis?
It was thus lucky for Bartholomew and all of the family that he was born the second son, which meant that he was free to leave his hated homeworld to the running of his elder brother and instead go to Glisten in order to study Law. He has never returned to his homeworld since.
Bartholomew was a model student and his warm and friendly personality – totally lacking in the arrogance that the Imperial nobility are notorious for displaying – earned him a lot of friends, many of whom were in high places.
His Imperial connections, knowledge of the law and the ease with which he made new friends soon opened up a job in the Diplomatic Corps, which is where he has spent his entire career. He has made good – but not spectacular – progress through the ranks. His superiors believe that he is too honorable to be one of the very best in the field – not willing to use Machiavellian tactics that are often necessary in order to progress Imperial interests to their fullest.
He finally achieved the position of Ambassador in 1104. Flexos is his second posting – one where someone with Bartholomew’s talents are needed more than his predecessor’s (who was totally outclassed by the superior mind of Zos Nyederemond) but not so important that it would have a major ramifications for the Imperium were he to screw things up totally.
