Sean "Syntax" O'Leary
He obviously does "This and That"
Description
Just a normal guy. Cheap shirt, old jeans, old coat. He could be anybody, but more likely he’s nobody. Just another guy on the fringe of society, holding on with no reason to hold on. There’s millions like him in every city, and well, he could be any of them
“He’s the wolf screaming lonely in the night
He’s the blood stain on the stage
He’s the tear in your eye, being tempted by his lies
He’s the knife in your back. He’s rage” – Motley Crue “Shout at the Devil”
“But who could give a fuck about a kid with a dream?
‘Cause stories aren’t told about the ones unseen.
With the gleam in his eye, his middle finger to the sky.
Crooked smile on his face, he doesn’t think he can die.” – Hollywood Undead “We Are”
Bio
Every time he talks of his past its a slightly different tale, sometimes its not even similar to the time before. What we can know for sure?
He spends his time in the worst parts of town; gambling dens, strip joints, pool halls and down and out bars. He doesn’t surround himself in splendour but his pick up seems new enough as do his clothes and he doesn’t stay in the same place long. Renting out cheap motels, rooms above bars and condemned walk ups. He certainly doesn’t live a life of glamour, but not one of obvious crime either. It seems he walks a dangerous line, from the look in his eyes its one he’s walked for a while.
While he doesn’t seem to form any long term attachments he seems to have some connection to the pathetic parasites that live on this planet of splendour, some connection with humanity but at its base level. Always willing to stick up for the underdog sometimes when it really isn’t a good idea, make that mostly when it isn’t a good idea. Its not like he’s trouble, just that he’s looking for it all the time and he normally knows where to find it.
He’s always been polite to the others of his kind though, us much as he used the lodge like a stop off point. It seemed like he always has somewhere to be, people to see, places to go, trouble to cause most likely.
But where does he really come from? His accent is difficult to place, nondescript is the word for it. His stories don’t give much of a clue, unless its possible that he was raised in San Diego, Orange County, Sacramento, San Antonio and Corpus Christi simultaneously by a ranch owning struggling actor married to a club singing air hostess at the orphanage. Some of it may be true but there is no way all of it is.
Oh and then there’s the tattoo on his shoulder showing the full moon behind the clouds. The initials “KT” underneath in a Gothic script. It’s either a reference to his mother, a gang he used to belong to or a former lover. Depends what mood he’s in when asked it seems.
Of course the days of the lodge have passed now and Syntax is normally seen in Monroe. But who is he being seen with? Some of them just seem to be people he could be working with but is that Keeta Campbell he’s spending so much time with? Either way he’s spending a lot of time with a stunning woman and what the connection is could be anyone’s guess, what would she see in him?
It’s almost like he has money now too, but only sometimes. Maybe he’s running a new scam, maybe it’s a relative that’s died, or maybe he’s always had it. It depends who you ask, when you ask and if you ask in the right way what answer you’ll get but it’s probable that only Syntax knows for sure, or maybe the pretty lady knows too, she does look a lot like Keeta though doesn’t she?
What exactly is it that happens in that warehouse he goes into? He seems to go there everyday now and there was a time when he was there at night as well. The house he goes to, deep in suburbia too, it might belong to the lady but it hardly seems his scene does it? What exactly is his scene anyway? There’s also a lot more talk about him in the red light district these days, but what’s he actually done there? It seems like a lot of people know him but is he a dealer, a pimp or some type of king pin type character? The people who work the streets and work the clubs on a small scale all seem to be on good terms with him but there’s no ties to any large organisations. More questions than answers.
Syntax, rarely consistent and only noticed when he’s in error.
“I want you to trouble me
I wanted you to linger
I want you to agree with me
I want so much, so bad
Come on
And lay it down
I’ve always been with you
Here and now
Give all that’s within you
Be my savior
And I’ll be your downfall” – Matchbox 20 “Downfall”
