The Moonhowlers first met Ruphus at the start of the campaign as he was being roughed up by three city guard midnighting for the Last Laugh guild. The party stepped in and knocked two of the thugs unconscious and intimidated the third into submission (Braenna having recognized the poor slob). The three thugs were then arrested by Justin and her patrol.
Ruphus was terribly thankful for the timely assist on the part of the Moonhowlers and had explained that he was just returning to the church from the Lantern Street Orphanage when he was jumped by the thugs. The only explanation they had given him was that he was to "Stay away from the orphanage." Ruphus had been asked by his superios, Jenya Urikas (acting high priest of St. Cuthbert) to visit the orphanage to see if he could find out any clues as to the whereabouts of the four recently kidnapped children.
Later, Ruphus would introduce the Moonhowlers to Jenya, which would lead to their eventual employment by the church to track down the missing children.
Ruphus was on hand during the trial of the three thugs and assisted by testifying in front of the judge. Not much has been seen of the timid acolyte since the trial.
