Hiatus
I’m on break from the D&D campaign until after March 13th, making our next possible session Saturday, March 19th. I’ll touch base before then for scheduling, and to nail down all the changes in Epic (as I finish them.) I’ll also be running other things on and off during the break, and I encourage others to do the same!
Also, I had commissioned an artist (in SEKRIT) to do a cast shot for the game back in December. He’s still working on it, but I did receive the first two WIP images from him about a week ago, so here they are. The composition shot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/davethegame/5405370338/ and the first inking WIP: http://www.flickr.com/photos/davethegame/5405370416/in/photostream/ I believe the final will be in full color, so I’ll put that up when I’ve got it, though I don’t expect it any time soon.
While I’m at it, who would be interested in helping playtest the RPG I’m working on for Margaret Weis Productions? It’s fantasy, I’d probably be running a mini-campaign, and you’d have to sign an NDA to play. I would need a fairly regular core of players as a result. Post here or email me directly if you’d be interested.
I like Bael’s head so far.
I would be interested in the mini-campaign, contingent on when its ran. Sunday, late works best for me on a regular basis.
Very nice w/ the cast shot Dave. I can only ever commit to one campaign, so since D&D is on hiatus, I can try my best to do this mage mini campaign. That Saturday, the 19th is going to be a very busy day for me and I already know I won’t be able to attend if you run that day.
A quick hiatus update:
I can now officially say that I am contributing to the Dragon Brigade Roleplaying Game based on the upcoming novels by Margaret Weis and Robert Krammes, which is a swashbuckling fantasy game featuring airships, dragons, magic, and intrigue, and uses the Cortex Plus rules (the same one that powers Leverage, my Mage hack, and some other games).
On top of that, I have been offered TWO more minor RPG writing gigs that have deadlines in March and April. This is on top of three conventions happening in March and April (including one that will require a lot of work to prep for from me), one or two gaming events I’ve been invited to, and two mini side campaigns.
So while I am still eager to resume the campaign into epic, it’s going to have to wait a bit longer. The safe bet will be May, though it’s possible I can start up a little earlier. Ideally, epic will run a short amount of time, say May, June, July, and end in August. Then we can start Dark Sun while it’s still hot outside. We’ll have to see though- there’s still also the chance that I’ll just call the campaign effectively done, run an epic finale, and then move on. I’ll have to play the next few months by ear.
Just wanted to give you guys an update. Thanks.
One more quick update: the cast picture is done!
