Sir Gasparus has come with forces from Aquilonia to stem the tide of the Pictish invasion. He has agreed to accompany Lady Coelia to the sacred Liguerean grove to ‘awaken’ the curious staff the young noblewoman carries. Gasparus has acquired the services of a Pictish guide named Arisawe to help in traveling through the trackless wilderness.
