Origin

While working on a high voltage power line in high winds a part of his harness snapped and he touched the exposed power line the electrical current passed into his body and nearly killed him. After waking up in a hospital a few hours later he realized he still possessed the the energy he adsorbed and decided that he would use his powers to make the Twin Cities safer for his children.
