Lucas was a city-elf who grew up quickly on the streets of Galdor. The third son of artisans, Lucas was often left to follow his older brothers through the streets and too often forgotten by his busy parents. By his adolescence, he had established a double-life of assisting his parents in their shop selling weapons and mechanical devices by day, then stealing from those same customers by night. Under the influence of Toric Gallowbells, a local thug who took in young people and used them to line his pockets through petty crime, Lucas discovered he had talent at both thievery and guile. One evening, as he leapt from a balcony with a pocket full of gold jewelry, Lucas fell to the cobblestones below. When he awoke, he was face to face with the Captain of the Guard, an old friend of his father! The captain gave him a long lecture and was ready to turn the wayward elf in to his parents but could not imagine the heartache that would bring to Lucas’ parents. Instead, he gave Lucas a choice: turn himself in to his parents or leave the city at once and find a new path. As Lucas looked up at the captain, silhouetted against the full moon, he knew of only one choice.
Lucas embraced his life among the shadows and left Galdor forever. He would find his fortune elsewhere and let Sehanine guide his actions. The first building he saw in Punjar was a temple to Sehanine, clearly a sign he had chosen correctly. Indeed, the high priestess in the temple not only welcomed him to the city warmly (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more) but also taught him the password to the local thieves guild safe house. Now he was gainfully employed and embedded in the city guard, learning all kinds of new skills as a fighter. And now, a new assignment has given him new insight into the underbelly of Punjar, not to mention the company of a beautiful Eladrin wizard. Not a bad start in his new life…
