Aelle Thatcher (Hightower) is from a dark future where Lon Sheribus recovered the crosses and Calastryx has returned. The Moonblades, although few and scattered, were able to track down two lineages that remained secret. Members of bloodlines affiliated with the crosses were slaughtered by Lon Sheribus and the white elves.
After the battle of the windmill, the bearers of the crosses disappeared. It was a few days before the Moonblades got a lead. Grayson Dent, who was in Daudale had not reported in. Upon arriving in Daudale, they learned that he had been poisoned and died at the Inn later that night after being seen with a paladin of Rasha. Further investigation led the Moonblades to believe that the party had been ambushed in the Sink and their crosses lost.
For many years, the bloodlines were thought to be destroyed. Luckily, the Lady Belvedere had gone into hiding to protect her son, and it was Aponi who died in her place in the Sink. (some story about the Belvederes). Lady Belvedere provides a clue about Midge, who traveled with Skelly, and a girl that Skelly liked in Daudale. The Moonblades find Midge traveling the rivers and learn about Skelly’s love, Rebecca Thatcher. Although Rebecca had died years before, the Moonblades found a young Aelle Thatcher and revealed his heritage. He joined immediately, giving his life to the Moonblades.
Aelle infiltrated the ranks of Lon Sheribus and gained access to the world clock where he was able to go back in time to before the ambush in the Sink. He found the party and was able to save Grayson Dent from Aponi’s spiked drink. Later he trailed the party to the sink where they fought a clone of Dennek and a horde of undead. This time they were victorious instead of corpses.
Now that he comes from a future that no longer exists, perhaps the lives he took on his path will have another chance to live. Or perhaps, they are all already dead.
