Beta – Beatriss McDouglas grew up on a farm out in the countryside of Bug Island. There she worked alongside the insects who assisted as farmhands. She learned how to shoot from practicing with a hunting rifle in her spare time, but her general practical skills around the farm never rose to any achievement. She was always much more at home in the wilds and exploring the forests around her home. Her time spent aboard the ship has given her plenty of time to refine her skills of marksmanship and perception, but it’s mostly spent napping.
Secret: She’s a pretty straightforward companion throughout the heroes’ journey, with the schtick of occasionally being mistaken for a boy due to her tendency to wear helmets and her extremely flat chest. Her only secret involves the death of her parents, leaving her older sister and insect companions left to raise her. They were victims of natural disaster that swept over the island long ago. She doesn’t have big dreams and is quite happy making it from paycheck to paycheck while getting the chance to see the world. Sniping comes quite naturally to her with little actual training, hinting at her extremely high aptitude. Until she finds a passion to train and get strong though, she’ll remain a minion.
She has a slight admiration for Bubba, but even all the time spent growing up around Dung Beetles hasn’t completely immunized her towards his disgusting habits. Her closest friends on the ship are Sakura and Number Four.
