Brian Kirkland has felt unwanted and powerless most of his life. His mother became pregnant with him after a tryst in the backseat of a Chevy. She thought it was love. She thought the father would stick around and they would get married,buy a house,have more children etc,but he split once he found out she was pregnant,and Brian became something to be ashamed of and a burden. Brian’s mother never finished high school and was ever after relegated to work in the service industry. She eventually turned to liquor.

Brian grew up feeling his mother’s bitter resentment and became the embodiment of all her frustrations and failures. It wasn’t long before Brian was getting smacked around and berated constantly. As he grew older he became overweight and affected a bland demeanor to avoid notice,but it did not work- he was teased mercilessly by his peers. He eventually lost the weight,but the emotional scars never healed. Brian became a negative,angry and reclusive adult. Like his mother he dropped out of school. He lived at home to take care of his mother after she suffered a debilitating stroke. He would often amuse himself with thoughts of rolling her wheelchair down the basement stairs imagining her impact on the cement floor ….But his mother frightened him still, despite the stroke.

Brian’s powerlessness drew him to the occult,but to a darker and more sinister sort-He began to read about curses,hexes, devils and demons-the so called left hand path. Through demons,he could attain earthly powers,unimaginable wealth and influence over others. People would not be so quick to put him down,and make fun of him. What was a soul anyway? He discovered a lecture series in a community newspaper called,“The Dark Powers,and how to attain them” There he met Euronymous who held him spellbound with his words and ideas. Brian wants the power which Euronymous has promised once Lucretia is made corporeal-awesome powers will be his!

Brian continues to study and read in the occult. He is also raising money for the cult. He has gone back to school,and obtained his G.E.D.,and is taking Business Administration classes at the community college. He is preparing himself to meet Lucretia and what she has to offer…He is also making The List of all those he wants to pay back. It makes him smile when he thinks about it.
