Even as a little girl,Martha knew she was different:She could see Faeries playing on the heaths, and perceived the restless dead. She knew when her friends were sick. She horrified her parents when she told them grandmother had died=five hours before they received the news from a relative the next town away. Sadly like most children,,she learned to suppress these gifts,and by the time she had become an adult,she had almost forgotten that she ever had the gifts.

A new movement swept through England-brought on by such figures as Crowley Mathers Waites and Yeats and others of the Golden Dawn. Spiritualism intrigued Martha Long. Her interest reopened doors she had closed years ago,and Martha and her husband with whom she was very much in love, also an occultist soon became “experts” in the field. They became lecturers on the subject and toured the US and Canada.People from around the country attended seeking occult wisdom,and after the lectures many came to them seeking answers from the spirit world. It seemed Martha could see omens and signs via the restless dead and could use them for predicting the outcome of even the most mundane events.

When her husband Robert died suddenly of a heart attack,Martha was thrust into a deep depression which she could not pull herself out of. She considered Robert her soulmate. She was about to kill herself when Robert’s ghost intervened by calling on someone who could stop her from doing what she was about to do.Unfortunately Robert made contact with a vampire and led her to Martha.The woman took Martha who was powerless to resist to a graveyard where she received her creation rites. Oddly,she was the only recruit on this occasion. Her sire Tatiana had insight into her potential. The Sabbat needed her special gifts,but she still had to prove herself.

In New York she destroyed a Tremere Gargoyle,and afterward became an accepted member of the pack. Still,she believes she might have had some help from her deceased husband’s ghost with whom she is in contact to this day. Robert as a wraith is fettered to her and is there to protect her. He has gotten her out of some very close scrapes in the ongoing Jyad.

Martha is a rather disturbing individual. She tends to sit and stare holes in people without speaking a word nor blinking,but then suddenly become distracted by something unknown.Her lips will then move silently as if speaking to someone or something otherworldly. She is usually quiet and contemplative reading and researching old tomes and practicing and refining what the Sabbat Tremere had taught her when they still existed. You tend to mother the younger members of the pack and will offer advice and counsel when asked,but never intrude on the business of others. She worries about the youngest and newest member Pamela who seems to be delving into something dark and dangerous.
