Dylan James is a man with trouble. Starting with childhood, he would tell stories of how he was ripped from his bed at the age of six by a thing that came through his bedroom window on a beam of impossibly bright light. For years it was his burden to tell this story of abduction and violation, only to have no one believe him.

Years later, while in service as an elite USMC Sniper, he finally got his chance to get a good look at what he felt — and knew — was one of these things. It was the target of Operation Yellowbird, and though he instinctively took the shot as instructed, it let loose a tidal wave of torment from the past.

Having completed his service, Dylan finds himself back him Sacramento with these flashes of crazy. And now that he’s met “others” who aren’t tuned to this…otherness, he’s not sure what he’s in for, but one thing is for certain: There is evil in it, and he will dedicate his life to see it eliminated.
