E’klon studied his kill closely. The elf was the last to fall, and it’s a good thing he finally did. Although all the elves had bows, this elf used his the most lethally. His bow was also different. Instead of just a single piece of slender wood like the others, it was all exotic materials carefully cut and matched to one another. Strange weapons, but the elves used them to good effect, firing and then retreating and repeating again and again until they were worn down and the Bear-Riders could close. E’klon was interrupted by Mor’buk, one of the fiercest of the Bear-Riders. “They should not poach on Clan Bear’s territory. These are our hunting grounds. Leave their bodies here as a frozen warning to others who might dare to trespass.” E’klon picked up the dead elf’s bow. Mor’buk scoffed, “Leave that too. The polar bear rends the flesh from its prey with its claws and fangs. It tastes the blood of its enemies. Such weapons that attack from afar are for the weak and cowardly.”
E’klon frowned at the dead elf, then cut the index finger from the elf’s right hand, depositing it into a special pouch. "You are strong and much respected, Mor’buk. But these “weak” weapons kept the Clan Bear at bay for hours. A lesser clan may have fallen." Mor’buk turned to go check on the other Bear-Riders. E’klon watched Mor’buk’s retreating back, studying the man’s slightly limping gait, and then took another look at the strange weapon.
E’klon reached for a separate pouch, special symbols painted on the leather. He poured several etched and polished finger bones in this hand, studied them, then returned them to their home.
The bones say “yes” to the weapon, thought E’klon, I will see what I can learn. He slung the bow on his shoulder and picked up the long leather pouch containing the delicate yet deadly missiles, filling it with arrows of the other fallen elves.
A nudge from a massive, white muzzle nearly knocked him over. E’klon turned to find his polar bear mount and friend seeking his attention. He stowed the strange new weapons on the bear’s saddle, “Yes, Ha’lah. You fought well, as always. We will protect Clan Bear and it’s territories as long as we have breath, hmm? Come. Let us find you some food.”
Physical Appearance: E’klon wears banded mail along with various fur-lined pieces of clothing. Dark, angular tattoos show on any exposed skin on his limbs. A tattoo of a polar bear print graces the front of his neck, the base of the print starting at his collarbone. Large, black polar bear claws, gifts from fallen mounts, jut forward from each ear. An additional, smaller bone piercing centered under his lower lip shines white, as well as two bone piercings across the bridge of his nose between his eyes. His black hair is long and thick where it is not shaved at the sides and pulled up in a loose top-knot and adorned randomly with bone and stone beads. He carries a Holy Symbol of Nistiqa. A gnoll finger bone with a small circle of ash corresponding to the iris of Nistiqa’s eye remains, specks of bone are visible matching the constellation of stars.
His mount and companion, Ha’lah, is a huge polar bear adorned with a simple leather saddle and little else.
