Sandstone

Greetings from Sandstone!

This is the site for a Savage Worlds fantasy/western-themed campaign currently in planning.

Set in a nation sundered by political strife, racism, and banditry, it will be up to the PCs to unite the city-states against a growing imperialistic threat from the East, join the ranks of the haunt-hunting Triviate, explore the ruins of the once great Sand Elves, or simply take advantage of the chaos and establish their own claim in this harsh landscape.

The dominating government is the city-state, of which there are quite a few. Though a few have allied together to defend themselves from the Eastern imperialists, they are at best intolerant of each other. Due to the inhospitable terrain that most of the country holds, many of the city-states rely on subterfuge to bring each other down. This has resulted in a number of Pinkerton-esque agencies cropping up in order to tend to these needs. Some say that these agencies are the actual force behind a few of the city-states, with the mayors being unwitting puppets.

Religion in Sandstone is split between two faiths Sidd and Lucida. Depending on the region, a difference in faiths can result in anything from a simple bar fight to the burning of a temple or monastery. As a result, most agents or members of the Triviate are forbidden from partaking in religious activity, relying instead on science and the ever-diminishing rune scrolls. Another demographic of Sandstone, Collectors, directly oppose the Triviate idealogically. While the members of the Triviate are of the belief that rune scrolls are nothing more than tools to be used against the haunts plaguing Sandstone, Collectors venture into ruins to obtain the scrolls and preserve them at any cost. More often than not, these collectors have seen far too many perilous ruins, and hire adventurers to go and find them.

The city-states and their locations are as follows:
Hope on an island south of Sandstone, capital of the followers of Sidd
Madsenton in southwest Sandstone, south of the Pendling River
Chisum in northwest Sandstone, near the Angling Cliffs
Oxlayne in northwest Sandstone, “sister” city to Chisum
Redplain Fort in central Sandstone, former military fort, now church of Lucida
Cortina in central Sandstone, home of famed industrialist Edwin Senderos
Hartstead in east Sandstone, the first city to be attacked by the eastern imperialists
Bannack in east Sandstone, leader in precious gems and crime
Arkov in North Sandstone, closest to Mistborn population
