She is not native to the area, but comes from another area and can never return to her homeland again. Sam desserted from a conscription army that was run by a feudal lord that killed her father and mother. The lord put a price on her head and so she had to flee. At her present location she works as a mercenary under an adventurers guild and has been working here for awile now.
