Bio
Born May 15th, 1984, Laurel Esparza (nee Kladakos) was raised in Los Angeles by a widowed mother. Miriam Kladakos died when Laurel was 17. After Miriam’s death, which Laurel no longer remembers, Laurel joined the army and went overseas. She doesn’t remember that anymore, either.
She does remember that she keeps a journal. because whatever happened was bad. Bad things still happen, so she keeps up with the journal as a way to deal.
Good things happen too, though. For example, Laurel is married to Gunnar Esparza, even though she doesn’t remember the wedding. They have twin sons, Alexander and Erik. Laurel is pregnant again, this time with a daughter. The daughter, whom they have decided to name Atropos, is due some time around Halloween.
Laurel’s divine resume includes the following: She has traversed five underworlds, spoken with three titan avatars, seen two more titan avatars, fought against the forces of Crom Cruach, stood in the snows of Fimbulwinter, witnessed the death of the god Pan, seen to the resurrection of a Scion, and ridden upon the Barque of Ra. All in the last year.
Nevermore voted her “Least likely to lay down and die.”
Laurel’s philosophy is rather simple:
Don’t lie, even though the truth is never popular.
Don’t give up, even though that would be way easier.
Keep your fucking promises.
Protect the people you love. Protect the people you hate, too. They tend to need it more.
Kane and Ixion needed to die.
Laurel’s Agendas:
- Protect her children
- Ascend to godhood
- Build a new pantheon
- Take care of Gunnar. This applies to his physical, mental and emotional well-being.
- Keep her promises. Laurel takes pride in the fact that her word is worth something.
These are the promises Laurel has made but not yet fulfilled:
Find and punish those responsible for Azzeza’s death. Take care of Azzeza in the meantime.
Help Gunnar build a new pantheon.
Protect Gunnar – from time, from death, from crazy, and from unsavory Garden- and Saltwater- hookers.
